The Under Construced Beihai Newly Developed Area
Beihai Newly Developed Area, located on the northern coastland of Binzhou City with a total population of 46 thousand and planned area 1200 square kilometers (668 square kilometers for its core area), represents one of the coastal regions that have the most per capita land in China. The advantageous geographical location, aboundant natural resources, vast hinterland, competitive production cost, as well as the varified development oppotunities have laid a solid foundation for the economic rise of Beihai Newly Developed Area. Convinent Transportation In the area, Jinshan Speedway, Weiwu Speedway, and arterial highways like 205 National Highway cover every corner; 10 thousand tonnage Binzhou Port starts to be constructed; the already existed 3000 tonnage port zone can connect all other national ports. The under designed Bingang Railway, Huangda Railway, and Dezhou-Longkou-Yantai Railway meet each other at this place. At a distance of 68 sea miles from Tianjin Binhai Newly Developed Area and a strght-line distance of 72 sea miles from Hebei Caofeidian, Beihai Newly Developed Area enjoys favourable collecting and dredging port condition. There are no more than 90 minutes drive from Tianjin Airport to its north and Jinan Airport to its south. Vast Land With a total coastline of 180 kilometers(three fourth of that of the whole city), tidal flat areas 104 thousand hectares, supralittoral areas 100 thousand hectares and -10m shallow areas 133.3 thousand hectares (among which alkaline wasteland 88666.7 hectares), this area is one of the coastal regions that enjoy most aboundant reserve land resources in China. There are 88 shell islands with a total area of 3733.3 hectares along the sea. Aboundant Resources This area is rich in oil, natural gas, geotherm, underground brine and coal resources. As the key oil recovery area of Shengli Oil Field, the No.2 oil field in China, Beihai Newly Developed Area is a satisfying place to develop oil chemistry as well as its industrial chains. This place is an important salt production base in China. With saltworks 87 thousand hectares and annual raw salt production capacity 3 million tons, abundant raw materials can be offered to develop the local salty chemical industry and its industrial chains. Northern coastal area is a route that the Mogolia Wind and Pacific Warm Current must take. So this area belongs to one of the areas that have the most aboundant wind power in China.Pillar industries have taken shape locally, such as salt-oil chemical industry, ship manufacture industry and ecological energy. Many star salty and salty chemical enetrprises have been built rapidly, composed mainly of Binzhou Marine Chemicals, Binhua Haiyuan Salty Chemicals and Jinhua Salty Chemicals. Ship manufacturing industry, based by the places along the Tao’er River, is sweeping the area. 11 ship making factories, like Binzhou Zhongsheng and Jinbin Ship, together with 10 coordinated projects, have come to this place in succession. The ecological power energy, composed mainly of wind power, have set about constructing. Beihai Newly Developed Area is confronting with unprecedented oppotunites. Currently a new round of industry transference is springing up in foreign and domestic developed areas. With vast land resources, the hinterland of Beihai Newly Developed Area becomes a natural place for accepting and carrying this kind of transference. CPC Shandong Committee and Shandong Government have raised a strategy of development, that is, to construct a development structure of “One body, Two wings” and to accelarate the construction of the Yellow River Delta High Efficient Ecological Economic Zone. Being on the right central position of the “North wing” and the key region of the Yellow River Delta High Efficient Ecological Economic Zone, Beihai Newly Developed Area enjoys tremendous development potentials. The rapid rise of the economic areas around the Bohai Sea has brought an unprecedented development opportunity for Beihai Newly Developed Area. It locates at the very central position of the economic areas around the Bohai Sea. Binzhou Port, located right in this area with vast hinterland and space of development, is a sole channel connecting to the sea in Jinnan Urban Areas and has become the bridgehead for Shandong connecting Tianjin Binhai Newly Developed Area and an industry cooperative base of the said area. The multiple development oppotunities commend that Beihai Newly Developed Area has turned to be the place with the most economic vitalities in coastal areas of Shandong and even of whole China. In the year 2007, the CPC Binzhou Committee and City Government made an important decision of exploiting Beihai Newly Developed Area. Planning Distribution: one axle, two wings, four zones and six baes. One axle stands for Binzhou port and the nearby industrial areas along the Tao’er River. Two wings means the coastal areas in Wudi and Zhanhua county. Four zones: Economic & Technical Development Zone, High-tech Industry Development Zone, Logistics Zone For Processing & Bonded Goods, Tourist Zone For Ecological Agriculture. Six Bases: Oil & Salt Chemical Base, Modern Logistics Base, Small and Medium-sized Ship Manufacturing Base, Iron & Steel Industry Base, Marine Science and Technology Industry Base, and Ecological Sightseeing Base. We would like to make joint efforts with the outside investors to build this area into a new port city suitable for people to live in with reasonable economic structure, beautiful ecological environment and hamonious relationship between man and the nature. Being full of vitality, hope and tremendous space of development, Beihai Newly Developed Area sincerely welcomes people with a breadth of vision for investment and trading.
