Binzhou is located on the beautiful,extensive and fertile delta of the Yellow River,which meets the Bohai Sea after running through the rolling mountains ,the vast Loess Plateau and the North Shandong Plain. Having jurisdiction over six counties-Humin,Yangxin,Wudi,Zhanhua,Boxing,Zouping and Binzhou City, it occupies an area of 9445 square kilometres and has a population of 3,629,500.

   Geographical features:The south of Binzhou is distributed with low mountains and hills while its central area is the alluvial plain across the Yellov River and the north is low lying land extending to the Bohai Sea.
  

   Climate:The climate of Binzhou is the sub-humid continental monson climate of the warm temperate zoneof East Asia,which is characterized bu cold winter,hot summer,symnchronous raining and hot seasons and dixtinctive seasons.
  

  City Features:Binzhou is located onthe hinterland of the Yellow River Delta.It is the principal oilproduction area of Shengli Oilfield-the second largest oilfiled of China. It is located on the joint area of the economic area round the  Bohai Sea and  the economic belt of the Yellow River.It is the joint-point of two large economic regions,that of Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Economic Zone and that of Shandong Prefecture Economic Zone.
  

  Transportation Service:The 205 national highway and the 220 national highway crosses southwards and eastwards in Binzhou,respectively.The Jinan-Qingdao Expressway crosses through the south of its area.Thus a transportation network constituted by three vertical highways,three horizontal ones and one round the city has been formed.Binzhou Harbor now has seven berths with the capacity of 500-3000 tonnages.The annual total handing capacity of goods can reach 1.3 million tons.The inland rivers,such as the Yellow River,the Xiaoqing River and the Tuhai River,have a long transportation history.Within the boundaries of the city,there are 58km of railway.The Huangda Railway has started for construction.It takes only an hour to drive to Jinan Yaoqiang Airport from Binzhou.
