China's IT and electronics trade up 3.1% to US$ 188.7 billion in Jan and Feb 2015

Mar 30, 2015 (China Knowledge) - China's exports and imports of information technology and electronics products grew 3.1% year on year in the first two months to US$ 188.7 billion, said the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. 

From Jan to Feb, exports of IT and electronics products edged up 1.2% from a year earlier to US$ 114.4 billion, accounting for 31% of the country's total exports. Imports went down 1.4% to US$ 74.24 billion, taking up 29.9% of the country's total.

Exports under general trade soared 27.7% to US$ 29.1 billion in the first two months, while that of processing trade dropped 0.8% year on year to US$ 72.3 billion. Both general trade and processing trade witnessed modest increases of 0.5% and 4.1% in import value, and amounted to US$ 19.4 billion and US$ 39.1 billion, respectively.

From Jan to Feb, China's private enterprises realized US$ 22.6 billion in exports of IT and electronics products, reflecting a year on year growth of 29.9%, while China's state-owned and foreign founded enterprises saw exports of such products increase 14.6% and 0.9% to US$ 7 billion and US$ 61.6 billion.

Exports to Hong Kong and the U.S climbed 4.2% and 12.8% to US$ 27.3 billion and US$ 21.4 billion, while that to Japan, South Korea and the Netherlands continued to decline sharply to US$ 7.3 billion, US$ 6.7 billion and US$ 5.1 billion.
